Alexey Chentsov and Dmitry
Yurkin, two young artists
from Moscow possessed by the
music, joined forces as Silent
Brothers in 2001. The excitement
of dance culture and their
shared vision of electronic
music turned them on to the
music-making process. They
first broke into the scene
with their release "Be
There," which was featured
in Perry O'Neil's "Electronic
Elements" radio show.
In their DJ sets, Silent Brothers
use all forms of progressive,
their favorite genre of electronic
music. They were recently
guest DJs on Friskyradio.com,
and their "Frisky Loves
Russia" show was dedicated
to featuring up and coming
producers in the Russian electronic
scene.
In their own words: "We
went through different genres
of electronic music before
we decided in favor of progressive.
We believe that this style
is universal and has no limits,
so there is a lot of space
to create. In our music and
sets, we try to embrace all
the aspects of this genre
and always introduce something
of our own. Therefore, our
music as the genre itself
has no clear bounds and may
sound different every time."
